How much does doorstep delivery cost

To help you plan to be home, during checkout you can opt to have an SMS sent to you the morning of your delivery with the 2 hour delivery window, or for a small extra fee you can choose a time slot which is suitable for you.

What type of packaging does Doorstep use? At Doorstep we work really hard on managing a balance between the quality of our produce, our environmental impact and the cost to our customers. We have made the decision to continue to use packaging that is already in the chain so to speak and to make all decisions from an ethical and environmental position wherever possible.

That is why we continue to use polystyrene boxes as not only are they an excellent insulator but they are already in our chain as farmers use them to transport product. At the end of their life cycle we pay to have them recycled rather than going to landfill. The same decision was made with the water bottles and they are essential to maintain the integrity of cold produce during transport. Please leave them in the boxes to be returned to us as we love to reuse them too.

The bags and liners we use are made from vegetable starch and are compostible and biodegradable. We are also happy to take any back that are clean, so feel free to leave them in your boxes.

Unfortunately, due to health and safety reasons we can not send cold items without the water bottles and if the starch bags and liners are not used we cannot guarantee the freshness of our produce, especially in the warmer months. This small charge is not designed to penalise, rather, it is to encourage the return of as many of these boxes as possible.

We count on receiving these boxes back, its good for the environment and also helps to keep costs down. Make sure you leave your colds box out for pick up on the day of your next order. This will be deducted from the total of your next order. We take all care with cold and frozen items. They are packed for you on the day of delivery and are placed in our refrigerated vans for transport to your door. This does mean that there is likely to be some softening of your items by the time they get to you but they have been kept cold, so can be refrozen or placed in your refrigerator for consumption.

Please note, we cannot provide refunds, credits or replacements on any colds items that may appear defrosted on arrival. Please leave boxes out on the morning of your next delivery and our drivers will pick them up.

If it looks like rain, please leave them undercover or wait until the following week as we are unable to reuse rain damaged boxes. We also like to have the plastic insert back if it is clean and we will reuse it as well.
